Five tools to improve your ASPC property search online
How many properties do you look at online before you set up a viewing? The number will be different for everyone, depending on how much of an idea you have in your head about your dream home – but it’s important to know everything you can about a property before you make a trip to see it.
This blog will highlight key ways to make your search on ASPC work for you – from the type of property to the features, as well as looking at other key functionalities.
If you’re an ASPC regular, you may know most of these, but if not, it could help you find your dream house!
1: Become more search savvy
You could be wasting time just by not editing your search. For example, if you’re looking for accommodation in Peterhead, you might previously have just typed ‘Peterhead’ into the home page search tool.
However, by clicking through on the ‘areas’ button underneath the search bar, and choosing your desired region, you can whittle down to the exact areas you want to search in.
2: Focus on features
Is there something particular you’re looking for in your property? If you’re only interested in new builds, or maybe a double garage is a necessity, focus your search using our ‘features’ tab on the left hand side of the search page.
You’ll notice that for rental properties, there are more features to choose from – including options based on how furnished the property is, and if pets are allowed.
When you’ve clicked through to view a property, the features it possesses will appear on the right, just below the solicitor’s details.
3: Check for space
A big disappointment when you view a property can be the size of the rooms. But did you know you can discover the overall floor area of the property, in m2, at the top of each property page?
You will also be able to tell the size of each room via the description, or through the floorplan, to be able to check if there is enough room for all your prized possessions!
4: How many rooms?
You may already know that you can filter properties by how many bedrooms there are, but did you know you can also filter by number of bathrooms and public rooms as well?
Even if you don’t decide to use this functionality, you can still see the overall number of rooms that fall under each category before you click through to see a property page.
5: Where is it on the map?
If the photos are one of the most important things to consider when viewing a property online, you may not have noticed that alongside the ‘photos’ tab at the top of each property’s page, there is also a ‘map’ tab.
This helps you see exactly where the property is in relation to amenities in the area.
Of course, there are a lot of other tools you can use when searching for properties on ASPC – for example, we have just focused on residential properties here, but you can also search for retirement or timeshare properties, as well as for commercial opportunities.
No matter what you are looking for, these tools will hopefully help you on your way to find a dream property.
