Three dream properties to put on your lottery win wishlist
It’s wonderful to see the dramatic scenery of the North East make an appearance in the media. When the National Lottery television advert made its debut this year, the towns of Macduff and Fraserburgh hit the small screen. This got the ASPC team wondering what properties would be on our wish list if we were lucky enough to win the lottery.
The ASPC website features a diverse selection of properties, ranging from those suitable for first time buyers and young families, right up to lavishly aspirational homes fit for a lottery ticket winner. With that in mind, we share three premium properties and ask which you would pick if you had the winning numbers?
Harlaw House, Inverurie - price over £848,000
With its own tennis court and a commemorative tower dating back to 1883, this historic home has an endless list of impressive features on offer. Harlaw House is located just two miles from Inverurie. Set within a picturesque three acres, including a one-and-a-half-acre paddock and the same sized mature gardens, there’s plenty of room to roam.
The former stable block has been transformed into a home gym, but could easily be converted back to its original use for equestrian enthusiasts. Another charming outdoor feature is the Victorian style greenhouse set within a raised vegetable and rose garden. Inside the 5-bed Category C Listed property, eye-catching original features are waiting to be discovered at every turn, including panel ceilings and an impressive staircase. Although the property has retained many of its features it’s also been modernised by the current owners to include expected conveniences such as double glazing and central heating.
One room guaranteed to provide the wow factor for any guests spending the night at Harlaw House is the ensuite set within an original stone tower – a unique blend of old and new.
Sainte-Foy Chalet, Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise – price over £1,750,266
This luxurious 8-bed ski chalet is something of a wild card on the ASPC website. Unlike most other properties on site, it’s not based in the North East of Scotland, but in the popular French ski resort of Sainte-Foy, just yards from the ski slopes.
Set over five floors, this stunning chalet was built in 2001 to an exceptional standard. Thanks to its unbelievable location, the property enjoys magnificent views over the French Alps, which can be enjoyed from the comfort of the hot tub on the balcony terrace.
Other indulgent features include a sauna, wine cellar and underfloor heating, making this home perfect for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Each bedroom has its own LED television but with views like this, you’d likely rather spend time looking out the window than watching your favourite show.
A valuable extra is the modern one-bedroom staff flat on the ground floor, providing accommodation for catering or cleaning employees. This beautiful home would make a fantastic investment that could be rented out to holidaymakers.
82 Beaconsfield Place, Aberdeen – Offers over £1,275,000
Elegantly blending traditional character with contemporary furnishings, this impressive 6-bed property has been designed in the Arts & Crafts style, retaining many original features including the striking staircase and stained-glass windows.
This really could make a dream family home, with plenty of space and privacy. The property is set back from the main road while being based in the sought-after location of Aberdeen’s West End, among picturesque tree-lined streets.
The brand new open-plan dining kitchen is the perfect spot for entertaining friends and family. A second kitchen area featuring an AGA burner means there’s plenty of room for preparation. The chic enclosed garden is a fantastic area to relax with after-dinner drinks.
Which of these aspirational abodes would you move into if you won the lottery?
